Birds for Aniston (For Jess)

Here are a couple pictures of one of the birds - I don't know how cute they look in the pictures, but they are pretty cute in person and will be even more cute on the branches. I am almost done - just have to stuff a few more and get their tails sewn up and they will be ready to send to you.

I have your diaper carrier done too.

(CLOSED/FRONT)

(OPENED UP)

I am going to make Aniston a cute little lovie tagie blankie like this one I made for Kade.

Here is the crinkly stuffed owl chewie that I made for Aniston too - it will also be in the mail once these birds are done - I am going to work on finishing them this weekend.

Kade LOVES his. It is his favorite toy now because the ears are the perfect size to fit in his mouth and chew on.

Happy 3 Month Birthday Baby Kade...

...a week and a half late!!

I have fallen behind in my blog updates and everyone keeps asking when I am going to get some more pictures up here...so here is what has been going on lately around our house...

Kade turned 3 months old on the 23rd. I can not believe it! We had his 3 month check up and here is what we were told:
Birth 3 Months
Height 21.5" 26.5"
Weight 8lbs 5ozs 17lbs 3oz
Head ? 47cm
Kade was in the top of the 95% percentile at birth, now is is WAY over it!
Kade had to get 2 shots that day. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen. Poor little man. He was not very happy to begin with because he was SO hungry and we waited forever for the doctor to get there. Around the time I decided to feed him, the doctor showed up, so he got interrupted after a VERY short feeding. Then when it was time for the shots, I wasn't allowed to hold him, so I had to interrupt his feeding AGAIN. He got his shots though and screamed and cried a very sad cry. Then we went to the nursing room so he could finally nurse. It took him quite a while to calm down. :(
The lighting was not very good at the house and I couldn't get a good angle, but here are Kade's little shot marks. :(

I took some 3 Month pictures out in the front yard that same evening...right as the sun was starting to go down, some cute pictures came out though!
The one with his truck is my favorite.

Look how strong my boy is!

What a great laugh!

Kade is definitely growing every day. He is so smart and curious for his age. I keep reading the milestones that they are supposed to reach and he is so far ahead for so many of them.

I will try to stay on myself for blogging, but with it being summer and having so many things going on, getting stuff made for Jess and Aniston and playing with Kade all day, there is not much time for blogging...but I will try!

On another note...

I am TRYING to get my act together to attend Vernon College in the Fall. I had planned and prepared to attend classes online or in Wichita Falls at MSU, but there are only 2 classes that are offered during the time that I would be able to go and they are on different days. So I would be driving back and forth from Wichita Falls 4 days a week for one hour of class a day...it does not seem worth the gas, money, or time away from Kade. Lance suggested taking another semester off, but since I am not working at the moment, I would rather take the classes here in Vernon if they are offered.

I have typed enough, so I will end it here. I have a few videos of Kade that I need to get on here, but the camera battery is kaput, so they will have to wait for another day.

Toys for Kade

I have seen the little tag blankies and am working on making one of those for Kade, but I have SO much fabric left from Kades bedding, that I am trying to use it up. I made a couple toys for him last night with the minky and some of the fabrics - they are so cute!
Here is the crinkly tag chewy and the elephant. I am also making a giraffe - a BIG giraffe. The tag toy has a piece of plastic wrapper in it, so it 'crinkles' when you move it.

Aww - cute little elephant - sleepy little man.

We're not in Texas anymore...

After the baby shower - Kade and I headed up to Dighton, Kansas for Kade to meet his Grandpa, Uncle Michale, Uncle Damon, and Great Grandma H. He looks so worried in this picture. We went up there in Jess's van, which has low windows so he could actually see out the sides of the car. He was so fixed on everything outside.
Jess was playing with Kade - this is my FAVORITE smile - just so sweet.
He was loving his chat - I don't even think she was doing anything - he was just so happy.
Jess bought this activity mat for Aniston and she let Kade play on it. I am going to have to buy him one, because he played on that thing for hours! He would find himself in the mirror and start talking to himself and smiling at his reflection. Such a smart boy!!

Here are a couple videos of Kade playing on Aniston's activity mat:

Grandma stopped by the Consignment store in Colby to see what they had for Kade, if anything, and came home with this. A toy that he can kick with his feet to make lights and music and the toys on the front move...and when he can sit up, it changes positions and he can use his hands to do the same. $3.00 for the toy, an old toothbrush, a bowl of bleach, and 2 hours of me scrubbing that thing CLEAN later - we introduced Kade to the toy...

I was actually very surprised at how fast he learned that kicking this thing makes the music and lights!
(In this picture Kade looks just like Josh!!)

Sitting by the pool...continuing from previous post...

...we went down to the pool, but Kade was too sleepy to get to play with the other kids. He just sat on the sidelines with Grandaddy and watched the kids swim.

My sleepy baby boy.

Cami (Jess's daughter) - such a cutie!!!
Sarah (my cousin) with Cami and Jordan (my sister) - Cami LOVED playing with Sarah.

Chance (Jess's son) - cute kid - in this picture anyways! :)

I have NO idea WHAT he was doing - it was pretty crazy though!!

Grandparents and Hotels

These are just some random pictures I took while in Borger for Jess's shower. We went to Dumas to spend a little time with my Grandparents. Kade fell asleep while Grandaddy was napping - so we laid Kade down with him for a sweet picture. Precious.

Back at the hotel - Kade had just gotten a clean diaper - which is one of his happiest times. He was talking and dancing with Grandmother. But then...
Something happened and he was not a happy fella.
But Grandaddy saved the day!
All the kids were down at the pool - so we decided to go too...

Jess's Baby Shower

Jess had her baby shower in Borger on June 23rd. Kade and I drove up there for the weekend and had a great time visiting with family and friends. Here are just a couple pictures from her shower.
Jess opening some of her gifts - she got so many cute clothes for Aniston.

Jess's friend Cassie refinished this dresser and painted it. They displayed all of the stuff they bought for her in it - it was SUCH a cute idea. I wish I were that creative.

Kade eating one of the baby bottle cookies! :) Little cutie.

The 'Favor Cake' and baby blocks I made for Jess & Aniston.
